Understudy for Sheridan Smith compared to Judy Garland

We are thrilled to read about Natasha Barnes and her phenomenal success at the Savoy Theatre on London’s West End.

Having to take to the stage last minute in the lead role of Fanny Brice in Funny Girl when the leading lady, Sheridan Smith was indisposed, she has left a lasting impression and critics are giving her rave reviews.

Natasha’s first professional review in The Stage newspaper said, “Showing youthful promise and strong vocals, Natasha Barnes was appreciated.” This was when she appeared for Matpro Limited in the show, produced and directed by Colin Matthews, Magic of Laughter at the Pier Theatre, Bournemouth. The show was Natasha’s first professional show and she was just 18. She is now being compared to Judy Garland!
