Sir Bruce Forsyth

This is a picture and article that told of the surprise visit the late Sir Bruce Forsyth made to the Babbacombe Theatre whilst returning to film for his television documentary about his life back in 2001.......

 

.....Bruce Forsyth surprised audience back in 2001, when he made a surprise guest appearance at the Babbacombe Theatre.

The full house had bought tickets to see the theatre’s summer production of The Sounds of Laughter. Bruce, a former host of the Generation Game and Big Night, and enjoying a revival with Strictly Come Dancing, was taking part in a television documentary about his life and was on stage for about 15 minutes chatting to the audience.

Bruce posed for this picture before his surprise return, he said, “Right now I am full of nostalgia because 46 years ago, I appeared here is summer season”. He went on to say, “The atmosphere in this place, you can’t beat it. Stay kind to it and treasure it all you can”. He said although it was only a 600-seater auditorium, it had a better atmosphere than the London Palladium!
