AUDITIONS for Senior Dancers - Christmas Show 2019

We are putting out a call to all talented young ladies who aspire to perform, to attend an audition for this seasons forthcoming Christmas Show, which opens on Wednesday 30th October and will run weekly until 1^st January 2020. We are looking for female dancers aged 15+ who are strong in all aspects of dance that preferably can sing well too.

The auditions will be held at the Babbacombe Theatre on Wednesday 4^th September at 5.30pm (doors open 5pm).

The senior dance auditions will enable us to ensure that the strong standard expected from our dancers can be met. Dancers will all need to have experience in ballet, tap and modern and will need to bring their own dance shoes for each genre. Routines will be set for all three genres.

The girls should all be between 5ft 2ins -5ft 10ins. It is preferred the dancers have a good singing voice and those wishing to audition are invited to sing if they choose to do so, although it is not essential. It’s worth noting those wanting to sing will need to provide their own backing tracks. Dancers will need to be at the venue for registration at 5pm.

Please be aware that those dancers still in full time education will need to be licenced by their respective local council and will require written confirmation from their school for authorised absences, as there are eight weekly matinee performances during the school term, every Wednesday. Some of the rehearsal’s dates will also fall during term time. On most weeks there will be an evening performance as well as the matinee. In total there are 20 performances which include Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Successful applicants MUST be available for all dates.

All applicants will need to fill in a registration form, which are available from the theatre in advance or can be picked up on the day of the audition.

Wednesdays 30th October to 11^th December 2.30pm & 8.15pm. Wednesday 18^th December 2.30pm.  Boxing Day, Thursday 26th December 12 Noon & 3pm. Wednesday 28^th December 3pm.  New Year’s Day, Wednesday 1st January 12 Noon & 3pm.     

REHEARSAL DATES

Thursday 24^th & Friday 25^th October 10am - 6pm.

Saturday 26^th October 10am - 5pm.

Sunday 27^th October 11am - 5pm.

Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th October 10am - 6pm.

Wednesday 30th October (Dress) 10am - 1pm
