Acker Bilk
Acker has performed on two occasions here and in both instances he appeared on stage with his Paramount Jazz Band and alongside Kenny Ball & his Jazzmen. On both occasions we had a full house, and there was even people on the door trying to buy tickets from theatre patrons who had been luck enough to secure tickets prior to them selling out!

Alvin Stardust
A winner of Best Performance Award and one of this country's favourite Rock 'n' Roll stars. Alvin performed here with his band on the 27th September 2008. Oh Yes... the audience loved him and wanted more!

Bellydance Superstars
The Bellydance Superstars are the world's premier touring bellydance troupe taking this ancient art form into the mainstream.
This American troupe is comprised of not only the highest caliber performing dancers practicing the art, but also a number of them are expert bellydance instructors as well, making the regular Bellydance Superstars' workshops extremely popular affairs.

Bonnie Langford
Bonnie performed in a show of Musical showstoppers performing numbers from Cats, Gypsy, Sweet Charity to name just a few. Her superb show was in the summer of 2001. She was a charming woman with poise and a great talent nothing like that little girl who would scream and scream until she was sick! LOL!

Cannon and Ball
"Rock On Tommy"- this will always be the catch phrase we remember when Cannon & Ball are mentioned! Tommy & Bobby have been favourites of the UK theatre going public for many generations!

Chas 'N' Dave
Chas is the slightly bigger one sitting at the piano, Dave is the slightly thinner one on the bass.
These legendary boys have appeared on numerous occasions over the past 10 years here.
Having split up in 2009, it is reported they are planning a Re-union tour in 2011....watch this space!!

Denise Nolan
Denise came to Babbacombe Theatre in her hit show ' The Magic of Judy Garland' in 2005.
Denise still tours with that show, but along with her appearances in Blood Brothers and too many to mention Pantomimes.
Of course we all know that she performed along with her sisters 'The Nolans' and their biggest hit song ' I'm In the Mood For Dancing' continues to gather momentum on any dance floor!

Dennis Locorriere
Locorriere, as a founding member of Dr Hook, was the recipient of more than sixty gold and platinum albums, gaining #1 chart status in more than 42 different countries. He is also a notable songwriter, his songs having been recorded by Bob Dylan, Crystal Gayle, BJ Thomas, Helen Reddy, Willie Nelson, Southside Johnny and most recently, Jerry Lee Lewis on his 2006 critically acclaimed, historical release 'Last Man Standing'

Des O'Connor
Des wowed the Babbacombe audience in November 2009. He also enjoyed a stay at the Cary Arms on his stay on the English Riviera. A fabulous performer, a living legend. We are hopeful that when he tours again, we will see him here again!

Donovan
Donovan is a British singer-songwriter and guitarist, he developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music.
Donovan came to fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with a series of live performances on the pop TV series, Ready Steady Go!, and his popularity spread to the US and other countries
His Sunshine Superman UK Tour back in 2005 bought him here to Babbacombe in May of that year.

Jimmy Cricket
Jimmy Cricket's humour is entirely clean. A popular theme of his comedy is Irish logic, and the ubiquitous letter from his "Mammy". He almost always appears in his trademark outfit of cut-off evening trousers, tuxedo, hat (given to him by the BBC to wear on The Good Old Days) and wellies marked "L" and "R" for left and right, but worn on the wrong feet

Jimmy Tarbuck
JIMMY TARBUCK, known affectionately as 'Tarby' is one of Britain's favourite comics and has a television career spanning over forty years. Today, he can often be found either on the golf course or entertaining corporate audiences at gala dinners and award ceremonies with his quick wit and charismatic personality
He has been honoured by an hour long special of This is Your Life and has found time to write two books -Tarbuck on Golf, which went to the top of the bestsellers followed by Tarbuck on Showbiz which was as equally successful. He has received the top Variety Club of Great Britain award of Showbusiness Personality of the Year and he has been made an Officer of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem for his charity work.
In 1994, Jimmy was honoured by being awarded the OBE for his services to showbusiness and charity.
Jimmy continues to appear in summer seasons, pantomime, yearly concert tours and a variety of television programmes. He is also involved in many charitable causes. He is a popular after-dinner speaker and hosts many award ceremonies.

Julian Lloyd webber
Widely regarded as one of the most creative musicians of his generation, Julian has won numerous awards for his services to music, including the Crystal Award (presented at the World Economic Forum in 1998) and the Classic FM Red Award in 2005. In 1994 he was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Music.
Julian has made many outstanding recordings including his Brit-Award winning Elgar Concerto conducted by Yehudi Menuhin (chosen as the finest ever version by BBC Music Magazine).
For one night only - the 12th April 2003, to be precise, Julian was in concert on the Babbacombe Theatre stage and what a fabulous evening was had by all!

Kenny Ball
Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen are without a doubt one of the country's favourite Jazz bands. They have appeared here twice and shared the stage with Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band. On both of their visits the SOLD OUT signs were out on show!

Marty Wilde
Marty was among the first generation of British pop stars to emulate American rock and roll.
From mid 1958 to the end of 1959, Marty was one of the leading British rock and roll singers, his backing group were called the Wildcats.

Richard Digance
The BAFTA Nominated Master Of Nostalgic Comedy Richard Digance is quite simply one of the most entertaining acts you will ever see. Brilliant self-penned comic songs introduced with panache, style and outrageous humour. Richard is an evergreen performer who appeals to all ages, making him still one of Britain's top comedy and music attractions.
He was here last year and will be back July 2010 because he loved the atmosphere and location of the Babbacombe Theatre.

When touring the UK in 2001 on what was to be his final theatre tour, Rick ensured that he played for his fans in this region. He appeared here March 30th and he bought the house down with his musical talent and managed to use his wit too, as there was lots of laughter in the house that night also as he shared his tales of the Rock and Roll industry...

Roy Hudd
Roy Hudd first appeared here in a seasonal review back in 1960 called Out Of The Blue, he went on to do another 2 seasons. He was spotted by a radio producer who promptly booked him for his first radio appearance with Jimmy Clitherow. However, the last time he we had Roy here was in October 2001 and as you would expect he played to a full house.

Steeleye Span
Steeleye Span is a British folk-rock band, formed in 1969 and remaining active today. They are amongst the best known acts of the British folk revival, and were among the most commercially successful, thanks to their hit singles "Gaudete" and "All Around My Hat".
They had 3 top 40 albums. They achieved a certified "gold" record with sales of "All Around My Hat".

Val Doonican
Val Doonican was the epitome of Saturday night TV on BBC1 attracting many millions of viewers. Every week, he was to be found firmly ensconced in his rocking chair, wearing cringe-worthy sweaters and surrounded by a troupe of adoring female backing singers who seemed ready to pass out in the divine presence.
Val appeared here as part of a UK tour in 2004, and everyone in the audience had a memorable and fun evening.
