Information for wheelchair users
The venue has access for both motorised and manual wheelchairs. There are 4 allocated wheel chair places at the front of the auditorium, 2 on the right and 2 on the left hand side. Visibility is good. There is another allocated wheelchair space each side of the auditorium, also at the front, however as these have restricted view we prefer not to allocate them.
Information regarding the entry & exit route to the venue for patrons in wheelchairs or for those using walking frames/sticks.
When entering through the front door into the foyer, there are two small steps to negotiate, the first is 3 inches deep and the second is 4 ½ inches in depth.
The stage left access also has a step to negotiate, however the access stage right has no steps just a small doorframe lip and wheelchairs are usually advised to use this entrance. The Front of House staff are available to assist.
For patrons who use a wheelchair but can sit in a theatre seat will be allocated an aisle seat, we have 148 of these on site so accommodating a request for wheelchair users who prefer to be seated in one of the venues seats is nearly always possible. PLEASE MENTION WHEN BOOKING THAT YOU WILL NEED AN AISLE SEAT. In this instance, a member of the Front Of House team will remove wheelchairs and frames from the auditorium prior to curtain up, and a member of the same team will return the wheelchair/frame at the end of the show.
The seating
The newly refurbished seating is a standard size. The width of the seat is 17 inches, the width from armrest to armrest is 18 inches. Once seated the leg space from a seated position to the seat back in front (excludes front row) is 11 inches.
Disabled Toilet
There is one disabled toilet at the rear of the auditorium, as there are NO steps within the venue access is not impaired anyway when manoeuvring around within the auditorium.
Loop system
We have a Loop system installed and it is used during all performances.
Facility for Guide Dogs
Guide Dogs are accommodated usually in the front row. As we tend to book the front row seats early it is advised that patrons with Guide Dogs contact the Box Office as soon as possible so we can ensure the best option available for the comfort of both the theatre patron and their guide dog.
The Front of House team and Box Office staff will always do their best to accommodate any special needs, however it is vital that when booking we are advised of those needs, we cannot always move patrons once we have allocated tickets.
